I hadn’t been to Manchester for 5 years and even then it was a brief encounter. I was amazed by the size and growth of the city. My hometown of Leeds aspires to be like Manchester but it has a long way to go. The architecture is stunning and the overall vibe is one of optimism. I will go again as there is so much to see. I visited the Central Library (1934) designed by E Vincent Harris; he designed Leeds Civic Hall too) and then I caught a tram to see the Imperial War Museum North. A few pics..
