CONNECTIONS 23 – APRIL 2020

Connections 23

Connections 22 finished with

‘Stand By Me’ by Ben E King.  Claus Ogerman arranged the strings so we followed him to

“Love Remembered’ by Jan Akkerman from the Akkerman/Ogerman 1978 Arunjuez LP.  We then followed Jan to

“Focus II’ from the 1973 live album Live At The Rainbow by Focus. MIke Vernon produced the LP so that led us to

‘Cuddly Toy’ by Roachford (1988). Mark Feltham played harmonica on the track so we moved him on to

‘Thin Line Between Love And Hate’ by Annie Lennox from her second solo LP Medusa (1994).  Dummer Neil Conti was on this so we were able to link him to

‘Hey Manhattan’ by Prefeab Sprout from their third LP From Langley Park to Memphis done in 1988.  Pete Townsend played guitar so we followed him to

‘My Generation’ by The Who (1966).  Pianist Nicky Hopkins was featured so we moved him on to

‘Rip This Joint’ by The Rolling Stones from the excellent Exile On Main Street LP released in 1972. Bobby Keys and Nicky Hopkins both played on the last song of the show which was

‘Night Owl’ by Carly Simon from her 1972 album No Secrets.

We’ll pick someone from that song to link to the first song of Connections 24
